The Gene Haas Foundation presented an $8,000 grant to Hopkinsville Community College to provide scholarships for students enrolled in computer numerical control (CNC) programs.
Funds from the grant provided scholarships for six computerized manufacturing and machining (CMM) students, Abby Allen and Mike Eaves of Hopkinsville, Tyler Coulter of Herndon, Keanu Galima of Allensville, Anthony Salgado of Elkton and Lance Johnson of Clarksville.
According to a news release from HCC, the foundation seeks to enhance manufacturing education and introduce young people to careers in the CNC industry.
