The Delta Regional Authority is investing roughly $7 million toward workforce development projects in the region, including locally.
Around $250,000 of that money is heading to Hopkinsville Community College to benefit workforce program that will expand job training opportunities in electrical, construction and air conditioning technologies. The hope is that program will create paths to high-quality employment and support industry growth in the region.
Another beneficiary of the funding is the Lifeline Recovery Center that has numerous locations across western Kentucky—they’ve been awarded $188,000 for a multi-phase workforce development program with will provide essential tools for workforce readiness.
Funded through the Delta Workforce Grant Program, the $7 million investment will support projects and initiatives that address the employment and training needs of the local and regional workforce within DRA’s eight-state service area.
