The Heritage Christian Academy volleyball team took on a group of talented opponents over the weekend at the Bluegrass State Games in Lexington.
HCA opened play on Friday with a win over Calloway County (21-15, 21-14) before falling to Warren East in straight sets (16-21, 6-21).
During pool play on Saturday, the Lady Warriors fell to Central Hardin (10-21, 13-21), Great Crossings (11-21, 10-21) and Lexington Catholic (11-21, 6-21).
If that murderer’s row wasn’t hard enough, HCA returned to bracket play on Sunday against highly regarded Newport Central Catholic, who claimed a hard fought 15-21, 17-21 win.
Mya Goodwin had a big tournament for HCA with 22 kills and 26 digs. Grace Conley had eight kills and four solo blocks and Katie Cansler had five kills and 29 digs. Hadlee Hayes had 18 digs and nine aces and Allie Craft had 26 digs in the tournament.
