Heritage Christian Academy has parted ways with varsity soccer coach Lloyd Young.
Young confirmed to WHOP Sports on Thursday afternoon that he is no longer with the school.
“They notified me two weeks ago my services were no longer needed,” Young said.
Young coached the Warriors for three seasons and compiled a 1-35-1 record.
HCA is a coed team that has played in the boys’ division in the KHSAA for the past three years.
Heritage Christian Academy Headmaster John Walsh told WHOP late Thursday night that former Trigg County girls’ soccer coach Sean Miller has agreed to lead the Warriors’ soccer program.
Miller was the winningest coach in Trigg school history when he resigned in 2023 after three seasons with a 34-13-3 record. He led the Lady Wildcats to two District 5 championships and to a berth in the 2022 Region 2 finals with a team that went 16-3-1.
“Sean has a distinct vision for the program’s maturity and defined steps to achieve that vision,” Walsh said in a text message. “He knows that it is going to involve some rebuilding.”
Walsh added he was appreciative of the leadership that Young provided to HCA during his tenure as head coach.
