Game time changed for HHS football Friday night; CCHS on bye week

The Hopkinsville Tigers football team will be looking to break a four-game losing streak dating back to last season on Friday night, but the opponent will be a difficult match up.

The Tigers, whose last football win came against Calloway County on Sept. 29 of last year, play host to defending Class 2-A champion Mayfield this Friday night at the Stadium of Champions.

Hopkinsville is coming off a dramatic 34-32 loss to Greenwood last week. Mayfield suffered a rare season-opening loss last week to Graves County, 35-28.

The Cardinals defeated the Tigers 59-6 last year in Mayfield.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. with airtime at 7 p.m. on Newsradio 99.3 FM and 1230 AM WHOP.

Meanwhile, Christian County, which lost 55-6 to Warren East last Friday night, is using this week’s bye week to shake off last week’s performance and get ready for next week’s game against Hopkinsville.

The Colonels are mired in a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Other area football games in the area Friday night include:

Fort Campbell at Hopkins Co. Central

Madisonville-North Hopkins at Caldwell County

Ohio County at Todd County Central

And Trigg County at Barren County.
