Further proceedings set for Pembroke-Oak Grove Road murder suspect

Another pretrial hearing was set in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning for murder suspect Anthony Moore, as his defense looks to see if a resolution can be reached.

Public defender Daniel Sherman represents Moore, and he says he’s reached out to the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office to see if this case could be resolved outside of trial, but he hasn’t heard back yet.  Commonwealth’s Attorney Maureen Leamy says she still needs to speak with the family of the victim, so another hearing was set for a week out.

In the meantime, Sherman says he believes they have all the evidence in this case, but he’ll be looking into getting an expert to go over Moore’s mental evaluation report.

Moore is facing a charge of murder in connection with March shooting death of 31-year-old Cicara Chantel James at a location on Pembroke-Oak Grove Road. The Christian County Sheriff’s Department reports Anthony Moore was sitting on the porch when they arrived and allegedly admitted to the fatal shooting. He and James both reportedly lived in the home and had children together—those children were in the home when the incident occurred.

Along with murder, he is additionally charged with first-degree wanton endangerment.
