Fort Campbell announces new barracks complex

Fort Campbell announced that the 1st Brigade Combat Team “Bastogne” is set to host a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new barracks complex.

According to a news release, the new barracks complex is replacing a complex built in the 1980s and the project is a major step toward improving soldier housing. The new living quarters will include more space and privacy for residents.

Lt. Col. Martin Meiners, spokesman for the 101st Airborne Division, says they want to ensure that the barracks on Fort Campbell not only meet the standards every soldier deserves but exceeds them in terms of safety, comfort and modernization.

The ribbon cutting ceremony is set for Tuesday and will include remarks from Major General Brett Sylvia, the commander of the 101st Airborne Division and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
