Former Hopkinsville High School pitcher JJ Thompson made his collegiate debut on Friday with Wright State University.
The freshman right-hander pitched two-thirds of an inning and two hits and two runs in relief as the 14-8 win over Longwood.
Wright State is scheduled to play Auburn on Friday.
Meanwhile, former Christian County High School baseball star Elijah Underhill has made one pitching start and has played several games for Eastern Kentucky University.
Underhill went 4.1 innings in his only start last Sunday in a 12-2 loss to South Alabama. He gave up four earned runs and suffered the pitching loss.
The former Colonels’ star is hitless in six at-bats in two starts in the outfield this season as the Colonels are off to a 0-4 start.
Eastern is scheduled to play Friday at Ole Miss.
