Former Hoptown star Dilday earns save for KWC

Former Hopkinsville High School pitcher Jacob Dilday picked up the save for Kentucky Wesleyan in the Panthers’ 8-6 win over No. 2 seed Walsh Wednesday in the Great Midwest Baseball Championship in Mason, Ohio.

Dilday entered the game in the eighth inning and the Panthers clinging to an 8-6 lead and recorded the final out of the inning. After a leadoff walk in the ninth, Dilday struck out the next three batters to send Wesleyan to today’s second round against Ohio Dominican at 10 a.m.

Former Caldwell County star Tate Van Hooser went 0-for-5 but scored the tying run in the sixth inning.
