Former HHS baseball star McGee earns MLB call up

Former Hopkinsville High School pitcher Easton McGee was called up to the Major League by the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday morning.

McGee is expected to bolster the Brewers’ bullpen. The 6-foot-6, right-hander has a 3.44 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP and 20 strikeouts and nine walks through 18.1 innings with the Triple-A Nashville Sounds.

McGee last pitched in the Majors in 2023 with the Seattle Mariners. In his only start, he went 6 2/3 innings and didn’t allow a run. After the game, arm tightness led to McGee needing Tommy John surgery.

He has been battling to get back into the big leagues ever since. He was signed by the Brewers in 2024 and has pitched the 2024 and early 2025 seasons with the Sounds.
