Former Colonel Trice survives first Steelers’ cuts

Former Christian County High School football star Cory Trice Jr., has survived the first round of cuts by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Trice, a third-year player, has been injured and did not play in any of the Steelers’ three preseason games. Several Pittsburgh beat writers have speculated that the oft-injured star cornerback may not be on the team’s 53-man roster.

Teams are required to trim squads to 53 players by 4 o’clock this afternoon.  Quarterback Logan Woodside, wide receiver Lance McCutcheon, linebacker Devin Harper and punter Cameron Johnston were among those released from the Steelers on Monday.

Trice, who has battled knee and hamstring injuries since being drafted by the Steelers in 2023, injured his hamstring in early August and had not returned to the field as of Sunday.
