Former Colonel Trice eyes Steelers’ roster spot

Former Christian County High School football player Cory Trice Jr. appears to have secured the top backup cornerback position for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Nick Farabagh of Pennlive.com, reported Monday that Trice was injured in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ final preseason game against Detroit last weekend.

Trice downplayed the groin injury yesterday and said he would be ready for Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons, according to Farabagh.

Trice said he had some soreness but everything was good on Monday.

According to Farabagh, played well throughout training camp and the preseason to secure a spot on the Steelers’ 53-man roster.
