Several buildings were damaged and one was completely destroyed in a fire in Eddyville Sunday night.
According to the Eddyville Fire Department, firefighters responded to the area of Gregory Lane and Wren Lane at roughly 8:30 p.m. Sunday night for reports of a structure fire and upon arrival, found a structure fully engulfed in flames. The fire was fully extinguished after approximately four hours of operations.
Three homes sustained damage from proximity heat, with the original structure a complete loss to fire. It’s unknown how long the blaze had been burning before being reported, as that area is a summer home community and many of the homes are unoccupied this time of year.
The fire was reported by a towboat captain on the lake. The cause of the blaze is unknown.
