Filing deadline passes with several contested races in Christian Co.

The filing deadline for non-partisan offices has passed as of Tuesday of this week, and now the ballots for the General Election November are set. 

For Christian County School Board, there will be contested races in District 1, District 2 and District 4—David Webster will face off against Erin Westerfield in District 1, Ambrea Watkins will square off against Margo Pickens in District 2 and in District 4 Rebecca Pepper and Caleb Ballard will once again meet on the ballot. 

Current Ward One Hopkinsville City Councilmember Natasha Francis filed as a write-in candidate for that seat, after Republican Vance Smith took the primary election in May. They’ll be facing Democrat Markeeta Oldham Wilkerson.

There are have been several filings for Oak Grove City Council, including Edward T. Cook, Richard Baker, Jean Leavell, Janet Edwards, John Campbell, Heather Leah Wright, Chance Summers, Carlo S. Gentleman, Timothy Lawrence and Isaiah Spencer.

In Pembroke, Kevin Earwood, Joe T. Rives, Karen Mitchell Pyle and Walter Bell filed to seek seats on City Council. 

For Lafayette City Council, citizens will see Norma Banks, Brandon Borneman and Sandra Torres on the ballot. 

Meanwhile, Crofton City Council saw several filings as well, including Anthony G. Durham, Reta Fleming, James E. Grace, Wanda Croft, Wendall R. Alexander, Gregory P. Owen and Jeffery Chandler.
