The Christian County Colonels never trailed and showed off some balanced scoring as they rolled past host Todd County Central 85-54 Thursday night in a boys’ high school basketball game.
The Colonels stopped a two-game skid as they jumped to a 16-8 lead after one quarter and pushed the advantage to 35-17 at halftime.
Jay Henderson’s 3-pointer at the second quarter buzzer put a cap on the Colonels’ first-half scoring.
Christian County began subbing early in the fourth quarter after leading 63-31 after three quarters.
James Farley had a career-high 17 points and Henderson added 16 for the Colonels, who improved to 3-3 on the season. Twelve Colonels scored in the game.
It was the first time that Christian County has played and beaten the Rebels in Elkton since 2000.
Todd Central slipped to 2-8 on the year and was led by J.R. Cardwell’s 19 points. Connor Holder added 15 and Spencer Poole added 13.
The Colonels return to action Monday evening against Calloway County in the Hardwood Classic in Murray. The White’s Auto Mall/West Kentucky FCA Pregame Show will air at 7:45 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
