Edward Todd Jr. passes away at the age of 84

The community is in mourning, bidding farewell and good rest to a steadfast figure, after Edward Todd Jr. passed away Monday at the age of 84.

Todd was well-known in the community, and especially at Freeman Chapel CME Church—he served 30 years of service to the United States Army and was employed as an LPN for Job Corp. An obituary from Gamble Funeral Home describes Todd as a ‘no-nonsense’ type of person, who was an avid reader that enjoyed encouraging the youth.

He had a legacy of love, leaving behind his wife of 50 years, Willie Francis “Billie” Todd, numerous siblings, children, grand-children and great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Freeman Chapel CME.

Funeral services will take place at Freeman Chapel on December 18 starting at 12 p.m. with visitation from 11 a.m. until the service hour that morning.
