A house on Durrett Avenue is a total loss after it was destroyed by fire early Thursday morning.
According to the Hopkinsville Fire Department, a neighbor in the 1300 block of Durrett Avenue smelled smoke and realized that a home nearby was on fire. They called 911 immediately, and crews arrived within five minutes of notification to find the front of the home fully engulfed in flames.Â
Firefighters began fire suppression efforts while also searching the home to see if anyone was inside. The home was determined to be vacant and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the blaze is currently unknown and is under investigation.
