Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell is requesting shoppers buy Kentucky Proud products during the holiday season.
As the Commonwealth is approaching the time of year with festive gatherings, Shell is interested in reflecting on Kentucky’s agricultural communities. He says, this time of year is about gratitude and what better way to show that than incorporating locally sourced products on your holiday dinner table.
A news release from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture says, buying local means supporting the next generations of farmers in the state. Locally sourced products aren’t just limited to food, but can be an abundance of items ranging from wreaths, candles, wool goods to handmade wooden items.
Another reminder from Shell, when shopping locally you are supporting your economy, neighbors, and contributing to the health of our communities.
