Downtown businesses partner to host Monster Mash

Halloween is right around the corner, and businesses in Hopkinsville’s Downtown Entertainment District are inviting the community to Monster Mash this Saturday to get into the spooky spirit.

Each month businesses and restaurants in the district come together to host Art After Dark, but this month it will have a Halloween twist. Heather Dawson from The Mixer and Drew Howes from Bella Marie Boutique shared that Camo Caravan, The Book and Bottle Shop, 6th Street Boutique, Milkweed Health and Harmony Emporium, The Crusty Pig and the Hopkinsville Brewing Company are some of the businesses participating in Monster Mash.

Howes says some of those businesses are set to host live music, crafts, vendors, car shows and there will be a costume competition. The full list of businesses hosting events is available on the map below.

Dawson says the winners of the costume competition will be announced at around 6 p.m. at the Hopkinsville Brewing Company. The competition will be judged by Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight, Christian County Sheriff Tyler DeArmond and Small Business Commission Chair DeeAnna Sova. During the during day, the judges will be walking around the downtown district looking at everyone’s costumes.

Monster Mash takes over the Downtown Entertainment District from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
