Details released in vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on Glass Avenue

A teenager is expected to be okay after he was struck by a vehicle on Glass Avenue on New Year’s Eve. 

According to the report from the Hopkinsville Police Department, it happened in the area of North Elm Street on Glass Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. when a 14-year-old entered the roadway and ran into the path of a vehicle heading eastbound at about 30 miles per hour.

The driver of the vehicle, 60-year-old Lisa Kast of Hopkinsville, slammed her brakes but was unable to avoid a collision, striking the teen.  When first responders arrived, the teenager was up and walking around, but had wounds to his hands.

He would be taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment.
