It’s almost time to party at the Alhambra Theatre in Hopkinsville, with the return of the Hoptown Holiday Hopfest and a grand show by singer-songwriter Deana Carter.
And WHOP got a special treat Wednesday morning, as country music star Carter took time out of her busy schedule to do an interview. She invited all to the show this Saturday, November 22, at the Alhambra, with doors openings at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $60 and are still up for grabs on pennyroyalarts.org. Carter is no stranger to the stage, having first made a splash into the music scene with her 1996 debut album, “Did I Shave My Legs for This?” That album went multi-platinum in the United States five times.
She says she still remembers that feeling of walking out into a filled-out stadium and realizing that dreams really can come true, even if it takes longer than you’d want it to. And she still feels that feeling of joy and dream-come-true even to this day.
Carter has a full weekend this weekend—while she’ll be at the Alhambra on Saturday, on Friday she’ll be performing at the Grand Ol’ Opry in Nashville. She says both stages, while different sizes, brings their own joys and pressures, as she wants to honor the history and legacy of both.
You’ve undoubtedly heard at least one of Carter’s many hit songs, which include titles such as “Strawberry Wine”, “We Danced Anyway” and “How Do I Get There”.
All money raised by this event goes right back into supporting the Alhambra Theater and the mission of the Pennyroyal Arts Council, which is dedicated to bringing the arts right here to Christian County.
