A Crofton man is in custody and facing numerous charges in Madisonville after he allegedly assaulted a pregnant woman Wednesday night.
According to the Madisonville Police Department, officers were called to Hospital Drive for a reported assault that happened around 10 p.m. and preliminary investigation determined that 52-year-old Lamonte Bass of Crofton drove to his ex-girlfriend’s residence and struck her in the face multiple times, causing swelling and possible broken bones in her face.
He also allegedly strangled the victim to the point of losing consciousness. She was able to retreat into the home, but he reportedly entered unlawfully and assault her again. The victim is reported to be approximately 26 weeks pregnant.
Bass was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, fourth-degree assault, first-degree strangulation and first-degree burglary, along with a charge of having no operators license.
