Crash involving Todd County school bus sends several to local hospitals

First responders are on scene of a collision involving a Todd County School District school bus on U.S. 68 where six children sustained minor injuries.   

According to Todd County Sheriff Tracy White, it happened near William Hills Road when the bus pulled out in front of a truck hauling a trailer, due to the driver being unable see because of heavy fog.

Six children on the bus were transported to area hospitals for minor injuries. The driver of the truck was also transported.

According to a notification from the Todd County School District, it was a North Todd Elementary School bus that was involved, and the bus driver was also transported to Tennova Healthcare for treatment of injuries.

The Todd County Sheriff’s Department, Elkton Police Department, Todd County Emergency Management, Elkton-Todd County Fire Department, Todd County Rescue Team and other first responders are assisting at the scene.  The roadway will likely be closed for some time.
