Company behind Dogwood Corners solar project drops lawsuit against Public Service Commission

An order was signed last week by Circuit Judge John Atkins that officially dismisses the lawsuit by officials with the Dogwood Corners, LLC solar project that was against the Kentucky State Board on Electric Generation and Transmission Siting, the Public Service Commission, and the Christian County Fiscal Court.

According to the court order, the matter is now considered final and will be removed from the Court’s docket, with the parties agreeing to that and bearing their own costs and fees.

This final act follows over a year of court proceedings, public hearings, Fiscal Court debate and comments, where parent company Oriden looking to maintain investments and urge lesser restrictions than the ones set down by Fiscal Court regarding all solar projects in the county.

The future of the project that had been set for the Dogwood Community of northern Christian County is unclear. The company can either design a new project plan conforming to the Christian County ordinance meeting all regulations, or they can move to another site.
