Colonels on bye week, face Caverna Sept. 26

The bye week came at the perfect time for the Christian County Colonels’ football team.

Last Friday, the Colonels dropped a 60-7 homecoming game to Daviess County to drop to 0-4 on the season. It was the eighth straight loss for Christian County dating back to last season.

On a bright note, the Colonels’ junior running back Deasian Harris has run for 163 yards in the last two games.

Christian County is off this weekend, but returns to action Sept. 26 at the Caverna Colonels. Caverna is 1-2 after being Eminence 18-7 last weekend. It is scheduled to play Jeffersontown Friday night.

Next Friday night’s game will be the first road trip of the year for Christian County and will begin a stretch of four straight away games.

The next Christian County home game is Oct. 24 against Hopkinsville in the final “Bragging Rights” football game between the schools before consolidation next fall.
