Colonels chase opening win Saturday against Eagles

The Christian County Colonels open their 2025 high school football season Saturday night against a team they haven’t played in nearly 30 years.

The Clarksville Northeast Eagles will visit the Stadium of Champions for a 7 p.m. kick off in the season opener for both teams.

Second-year Head Coach Ethan Atchley said the Eagles won’t try to do many things to confuse his defense, but the young Colonels will need to be disciplined in order to get a victory.

The Colonels are coming off a 1-10 season in 2024 and lost several key players to transfer. Senior Tom Johnson is making his first start at quarterback and Christian County will have several freshmen starting on Saturday.

Northeast is coming off a 1-9 season and have not played Christian County since 1996 when the Eagles won 48-24 behind the play of future Tennessee star Travis Stephens.

Christian County leads the all-time series 3-2.

There will be no cash sales at the gate. All tickets will be sold through GoFan.com.
