Led by the performance of Caydon Cline, the Christian County cross-country team finished ninth in the Gatorland Invitational Saturday in Bowling Green.
Cline finished 13th overall with a time of 17:56.8 and Wyatt Fleming earned a top-30 finish with a time of 18:26.7 to lead the Colonels.
Michael Webb ran 52nd with a time of 19:08.1. Other Colonels runners included Rex Taggart (74, 19:52.7), Joseph Parker (99, 20:22.1), Hector Munoz (177, 22:11.7), and JT Miles (182, 22:19).
Meanwhile, Taylor Morris was the lone Lady Colonel running in the girls’ varsity race. Morris finished 26th with a time of 22:35.5.
In the girls’ middle school division, Gracelyn Clark and Ellie Brown each brought home top-50 performances and helped the Lady Colonels finish eighth.
Clark was 38th with a time of 14:05.8 and Brown took 42nd in 14:13.9. Others running for the Lady Colonels included Kylie Sewell (70, 15:31), Sophia Wyatt (79, 15:46.3), Lia Beckham (99, 16:26), Addalyn Smith (130, 17:28.8), Emoni Beamon (159, 19:32.1), and Amerah Acree (164, 19:47.8).
In the boys’ middle school division, Lucas Coates finished 52nd to lead the Colonels with a time of 12:36.5. Others running for Christian County were Myron Reeves (66, 13:18.2), Cash Taggart (96, 14:11.2) and Levi Johnson (143, 15:41.4).
The Colonels finished 10th as a team.
In the elementary school race, Karli Sewell ran 26th in 9:58.9 to lead the Lady Colonels to a ninth-place finish. Jovie Hensley was 36th in 10:15.6. Others running included Tadajah Merritt (60, 11:05.4), Eliza McLaughlin (62, 11:07.1), Camille Hall (73, 11:34.5) and Elenor Knight (117, 13:24.1).
Christian County took eighth as a team.
