Clarksville Police identify suspect from hostage incident

Following a hostage situation that lasted over six hours on July 11, Clarksville Police arrested a man who has since been identified as 34-year-old Tavarus Pressley.

As previously reported, Clarksville Police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Pat Drive in Clarksville. As officers arrived at the scene, Pressley reportedly barricaded himself inside of the house with children.

An adult victim was able to escape from the residence, but the children remained inside with Pressley. After negotiations, officers reportedly convinced Pressley to surrender and none of the children were harmed.

Pressley was charged with aggravated assault and three counts of child endangerment. Pressley’s bond is set at $133,000.
