The City of Clarksville is celebrating the opening of a new place for victims of domestic violence to seek safe refuge, after Urban Ministries SafeHouse officially opened phase one of its new facility.
The Urban Ministries SafeHouse program provides inclusive and trauma-informed advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence and their minor children. Services are available to anyone victimized by domestic violence including women, men, LGBTQ, survivors with disabilities, and survivors from historically marginalized or underserved populations.
Phase one of the facility includes a large kitchen, private rooms, playroom for children, a client living room and staff offices. A few rooms are still in development, and donors can sponsor a room build-out at various levels, starting at $100 minimum sponsorships.
All services are free and confidential to clients primarily from Montgomery, Stewart, Houston, and Cheatham counties.
