Christmas weekend looks rainy and temperate

If you were hoping for a white Christmas in western Kentucky this year, you’ll probably be disappointed—it’s looking more like it will simply be a wet Christmas.

During the weekly weather conference call, Meteorologist Sean Poulus with the National Weather Service in Paducah says this week started out cold but will warm up quickly, before it reaches near 60 in time for Christmas.

While there will likely be some precipitation on Christmas Day, it won’t be snow—Poulus some locations may see the rainiest Christmas in some time.

Then in the 8-to-14 day outlook, things are trending wetter than average, with above average temperatures in store for the region.

At this time, western Kentucky is not forecast to receive any snow or any severe weather during the week of Christmas.
