As far as her record shattering performance at State, Webster said that in the beginning of the season she had no thoughts of breaking records but that as she progressed the idea became wider in her perspective.
As mentioned, Emma wasn’t the only Lady Colonel to win at state. 19 other girls competed together to give Christian County the state title in the women’s division.
Emma talked about the joy she received in also seeing her teammates’ success.
Also, when it came to the teammates, along with the coaches, she says they were very helpful when it came to learning certain techniques.
Zach Self the head coach of the powerlifting team has seen the full progression of Emma’s powerlifting as he was the one who was with her and the rest of the volleyball team this past July.
Self talked about how volleyball players typically have an advantage in the weight room and that Emma was no anomaly in that case.
He went on to talk about Emma’s growth and what he saw from her throughout different stages.
With the season coming to a close, Emma will know prepare to get ready for her senior volleyball season but did make it clear that she is planning on returning to the powerlifting team next year and that she will be striving to break more records.
