Christian County wrestler Joshua Cohoon wins Player of the Week

This week’s Jennie Stuart Orthopedic – Michael Venable State Farm Player of the Week is Christian Co. freshman Joshua Cohoon.

Cohoon is a member of the Colonel wrestling team, and went undefeated going 4-0 in the Christian Co. Scramble this past weekend..

Before practice his week, Joshua explained his wrestling journey so far and why he has continued from middle school into freshman year.

From extensive summer workouts to now, with the season still fresh on the horizon, Cohoon explained the goals that he and his team are striving to achieve.

Head coach of Christian Co. Wrestling Dee Leavell spoke on Joshua and what he’s seen from him these past few years to now.

When asked about his biggest strength on the mat, Cohoon quickly answered “hand-fighting.”

Coach Leavell also stood in agreement with that message.

“The sky is the limit” were the first words Coach Leavell used when asked about Joshua’s future and what he can be capable of.

Next up for Joshua and the rest of his team is this Saturday on December 7, in the Henderson Co. Duel Tournament.
