Christian County Judge Executive spotlights legislative priorities

As the Kentucky General Assembly is set to reconvene in January, Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam appeared on WHOP on Monday to share some of the county’s legislative priorities.

Gilliam says he has had discussions concerning water projects in Oak Grove, housing, reconstruction of KY 115 and support for developments at Commerce Park II with local lawmakers.

At Commerce Park II construction is underway on Ascend Elements’ Apex 1 Facility and will start in 2025 for Cinis Fertilizer. Cinis will be taking a salt byproduct from Ascend and will create ash for fertilizer which Gilliam says can be an advantage to local farmers.

Cinis will invest over $100 million in its facility at Commerce Park II and will create 65 jobs. Lawmakers return to Frankfort on January 7 for the 2025 legislative short session.
