August 16th and 17th is the Lone Star Championship Rodeo, hosted by the Christian County
Cattlemen’s Association.

This weekend will be packed with great entertainment with a variety of events to enjoy, and
everyone is invited to bring the whole family out to root on their favorite cowboy or cowgirl.
Brandon Garnett with the Christian County Cattlemen’s Association is no stranger to the Lone
Star Rodeo scene and says this is a big year of celebration for the rodeo committee, given that
this is the 25th Anniversary of giving back to the community.

The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and the rodeo will begin shortly after at 7:30. Ticket prices for
the concert and rodeo are $20 for adult general admissions, $12 for children general admission,
and children three or under get in free, credit cards will be accepted at the gate. The rodeo will
be a different show each night, so Garnett says be sure not to miss out.

All of the proceeds will go right back into the local community, with the money raised to be
distributed into the Christian County Scholarships program. The scholarship program has given
out close to $150,000 over the years and $20,000 will be awarded just this year to invest in the
future of their local community.

This rodeo isn’t just for entertainment, but to serve the needs of the youth in Christian County.
The rodeo wouldn’t have the impact it does without its sponsors, and the Christian County
Cattlemen’s association wants to give a huge thank you to the event sponsors, box seat and
ticket buyers.

This local rodeo wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of the community, which
truly comes together to help bring the rodeo to life.
