Christian Co. Chamber to host two events in January focused on student success

The Christian County Chamber of Commerce is inviting the community to two events in January that are designed to help employers and individuals learn more about chances to partner with the local schools and students.

According to a news release, the first event will be held on January 13 in the Pennyrile Electric Community Room, where high school students will detail their experiences with the Co-Op program. In that program, students team up with local business to get valuable work experience and help them determine what they’d like to do once they graduate. That event begins at 8:30 a.m. that morning.

Then the Christian County Chamber Eye-Opener Breakfast: “Partners in Possibility: Igniting Futures Together” takes over the Silo Event Center at 7:15 a.m. on January 27. Attendees can hear from business and school officials on a partnership that benefits students while strengthening the local workforce.

The featured speaker of the event will be Dr. Kimberly Fifer, a community coach for Ford Next Generation Learning. She’ll speak on the importance of community involvement for student success.
