Local businesses, nonprofits and entrepreneurs were celebrated at Wednesday’s Christian County Chamber of Commerce’s Compass Awards ceremony.
Chamber President Taylor Hayes welcomed attendees to the Alhambra Theatre for the ceremony and thanked them for coming to celebrate the people who fuel Hopkinsville’s economy. He also shared that this year’s awards cycle had a record number of nominations submitted.
Following Hayes’ remarks, awards were presented spotlighting organizations in fields such as agriculture, food service and health and wellness.
The Friend of Small Business Award was presented to Danielle Renshaw. Renshaw, who owns Ruffled Willow Floral Company, said she was thankful for the award and told the audience it’s easy to show to support to local businesses in Hopkinsville and is proud to be the owner of one of them.
The Spirit of Entrepreneurialism Award was presented to Camo Caravan. Before the restaurant was announced as the winner, the presenter shared some details about the owners, and some audience members could not contain their excitement for restaurant’s win.
Camo Caravan was impacted by the flood in April 2025 and moved to a new location in downtown Hopkinsville. Owners Jason Coy and Eric Hardin shared that last year was hard for them, and thanked the community for their support.
The Local Legacy Award was presented to Pioneers Inc., an African American civic organization that has been a part of the community since 1952. Pioneers President Dwight McGee and Vice President Phillip Brooks accepted the award.
