Winter break is fast approaching for Christian County Public Schools, and when students return, Superintendent Chris Bentzel says they intend to hit the ground running to start the remainder of the year out strong.
Bentzel says it seems to have been a good year for students so far and they want to keep that momentum going—so he tells students to enjoy the break that starts December 20 but be ready to dive back into learning when they return in January. He says they’ll focus some on their freshman, offering a Career Expo at the end of January that will let them gets hands on with local businesses and industries and get them thinking on what they may want to do for the future.
It will take place at the James E. Bruce Convention Center on January 31 and he says it’s a great opportunity for their students, with successful versions of it happening in other districts.
Bentzel reminded folks of upcoming mid-terms for the high schools, the importance of attendance at all grade levels, and says he’s looking forward to a strong end to this nine weeks.
Work continues at the site of the consolidate high school, with Bentzel saying things will likely slow down some due to the holidays and weather during the winter months.
