Christian County’s boys’ high school cross-country team finished seventh Saturday in the Muhlenberg County Mustang Stampede in Greenville.
Cayden Cline blistered the course in 17:46.17 to take eighth place overall. Wyatt Fleming was 24th in 18:56.98.
Others running for the Colonels were JT Miles (46, 19:45.32), Joseph Parker (64, 20:10.69), Rex Taggart (94, 21:07.23), Matthew Reeves (119, 22:02.26), Nolan Long (125, 22:12.12) and Hector Munoz (132, 22:39.79).
Daviess County won the team title with 57 points and Apollo was second with 77.
Apollo’s Emmitt Brock won the individual crown with a time of 16:18.19.
In the girls’ meet, Christian County’s lone representative was Taylor Morris, who took 19th overall in a time of 22:33.61.
Daviess County won the girls’ meet with 42 points and Owensboro Catholic took second with 45.
Ohio County’s Morgan Kobylinski won the individual race in a time of 18:57.70. Owensboro Catholic’s Peyton Red was second in 20:20.79.
In the middle school division, the Lady Colonels took sixth place led by Mia Gbemudu’s 27th-place finish in 20:50.96. Ellie Brown was 31st and Amerah Acree was 32nd in 21:25.06 and 21:33.92, respectively. Others competing for the Lady Colonels included Aubrey Cline (34, 21:43.55), Gracelyn Clark (50, 23:16.04), Kylie Sewell (66, 23:46.93), and Tori Thompkins (75, 25:07.47).
For the boys, Lucas Coates ran 14th and Myron Reeves was 16th in 16:56.45 and 17:27.62, respectively. Others running for the Colonels included Cash Taggart (63, 20:49.74) and Levi Johnston (69, 21:33.01).
In the elementary school division, Christian County’s girls’ team took 10th place. Camille Hall was 41st and Jovie Hensley was 44th in 17:55.40 and 18:04.77, respectively. Others running for the Lady Colonels included Tadajah Merritt (67, 19:15.93), Eliza McLaughlin (73, 19:44.60), Amari Beamon (89, 21:55.14), Elenor Knight (99, 23:12.31), and Karli Sewell (120, 28:00.61).
For the boys, Colton Chapman was 65th in 17:29.15 and Malachi Acree was 68th in 17:57.50.
