Hopefully you’ve enjoyed the peaceful, seasonal weather recently, because a cold front on Friday will likely bring heavy rain and maybe even storms to the region.
Right now, there’s not a lot of information to be had about Friday’s storm potential, as it’s still five days out and the National Weather Service Paducah is combing through the data. Forecaster Rachel Trevino on Monday says things could and will likely change, so they’re asking folks to just stay weather aware as we go through the week.
What they are fairly confident will happen though is rain, with rain chances picking up on Wednesday and lingering into the weekend, and Trevino says it’s much needed, as it’s been pretty dry for a while now.
In the 8-to-14-day outlook, temperatures are looking to stay near normal for January, and precipitation chances are trending below average.
There’s still plenty of details to work out for our storm chances, so stay tuned to the National Weather Service or to the WHOP Family of Stations for any watches or warnings that may develop.
