Calloway Co. woman federally sentenced in $1.4 million embezzlement case

A Calloway County woman has been federally sentenced and ordered to pay $1.4 million in restitution to her prior employer.

According to the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, 34-year-old Amanda Robertson of Calloway County was sentenced to two years and one month in federal prison for six counts of wire fraud.

Between the dates of May 2020 and May 2023, Robertson was employed as a bookkeeper for a western Kentucky construction company, and during that time, she embezzled over $1 million from her employer.  She then used that money to finance the operation of several businesses that she owned and paid some personal expenses.

She will have to pay $1.47 million in restitution—and there is no parole in the federal system.
