Bridge replacement project set to begin in Trigg Co. this week

Work will begin this week on a bridge replacement project in Trigg County on North Tanyard Road.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, contractors will close North Tanyard Road near the near the one-mile-marker in starting Monday. This closure is to allow for work to begin on replacing the bridge over Caney Creek between U.S. 68-KY 80 and KY 272. Demolition could happen as soon as Tuesday.

The $620,000 bridge replacement project is part of the County-City Bridge Improvement Program and construction is expected to take approximately three months, weather permitting.

Roughly 170 vehicles travel that bridge in an average day, and motorists are asked to self-detour during construction.
