Blazers take down No. 10 Gators, No. 23 Tornado

A night after falling 8-3 to Christian County in a District 8 baseball game, No. 21-ranked University Heights Academy flexed its muscle with a pair of top-25 wins over Greenwood and Paducah Tilghman Saturday at Chris Simmons Field.

Hayden Hunt and Jaiden Miles each homered to lead host UHA to a 6-4 high school baseball win over No. 10-ranked Greenwood Saturday. Ryan Luckey had a pair of hits to lead the Blazers.

The Blazers scored four runs in the bottom of the third to take a 4-0 lead it would never relinquish.

Miles earned the pitching win, tossing five innings and allowing only five hits while striking out two. Luckey earned the save, going two innings and allowing only two hits.

In the nightcap, Aiden Jones went 3-for-4 and led host UHA to an 8-3 win over No. 23 Paducah Tilghman on Saturday afternoon. Hayden Hunt pitched six innings and allowed only five hits to pick up the win.

Josh Pace had a home run and drove in three runs for the Blazers.

Courtland Gibson also had a pair of RBI for UHA.

The game was tied 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth when the Blazers scored five times using three hits and a Blue Tornado error.

UHA improved to 8-5 on the season and is scheduled to play today at Owensboro Apollo.
