On a hot and humid day at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club golf course, Marshall County’s Lady Marshals proved to be too tough for the rest of the field Tuesday in the HGCC Invitational.
The Lady Marshals, led by individual medalist Katie Roberts’ 71, carded a team score of 306 to easily defeat runner-up Bowling Green by 15 strokes.
Claire Reynolds, of Daviess County, took second place and Anna Mae Atcher of North Hardin was third. Both shot a 72.
Hopkinsville’s Cate Blane was fourth with one of her best outings of the year. The lone Hoptown representative carded a 74.
University Heights Academy was paced by Conlee Lindsey, who was sixth with a 76. Campbell Lindsey shot an 87 and Caroline Tucker came in at 102.
Christian County had four golfers in the event. Alyse Ezell had a 117 and Allie Ezell and Carter Jane Wilson each had a 121. Anslee West shot a 139 on the day.
