The Hopkinsville Police Department was able to get an individual to needed mental health help, following a stand-off on Buckley Avenue early Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to a location in the 700 block of Buckley for reports of a male subject having a mental health crisis, who was threatening to harm himself and officers. They arrived to find the subject barricaded inside of a residence.
HPD SWAT Team members and Crisis Negotiators worked for some time to peacefully resolve the situation, and at just before 4:30 a.m. the individual was taken into custody without further incident.
He was served with a warrant for failure to appear and mental health services will be available to him.
