Local aviation nonprofit Props for a Purpose is inviting the community to give to their Disaster Relief Donation Drive to support those impacted by Friday’s tornadoes.
Props for a Purpose uses aviation to provide support during humanitarian causes such as disaster relief efforts, community outreach, animal rescues and medical care transportation.
Tyler Mosley, the nonprofit’s chief of disaster relief, appeared on WHOP on Wednesday to share how the community can support their donation drive. Mosley says the donated supplies will be transported to the London and Somerset areas that were impacted by tornadoes.
The nonprofit has established donation drop off locations at Car Connection of Hopkinsville, WHOP Radio Station and The Mutt Hutt.
The donation drive concludes on Friday, and then the collected items will be flown to the Lake Cumberland Regional Airport in Somerset.
The nonprofit is requesting a variety of donations such as cleaning supplies, over-the-counter medications, non-perishable food items, plastic tableware and gift cards for gas and food. Mosley says monetary donations can also be made at propsforapurpose.org.
The full list of requested items is available at the nonprofit’s website.
