Atmos Energy leadership is celebrating after the gas distributor was ranked first for customer satisfaction in the South and Midwest regions by consumer insights organization, J.D. Power.
Atmos Energy is a natural gas distribution corporation based in Dallas, Texas with multiple locations in Western Kentucky including Hopkinsville.
In its 2025 Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study, J.D. Power ranked Atmos Energy first in customer satisfaction with residential natural gas service in the South and Midwest among large utility companies.
According to Atmos Energy, the survey is based on responses from nearly 73,000 online interviews from customers of the 87 largest utility companies in the country. Atmos Energy Vice President of Customer Services Mike Dickson calls it an incredible achievement for a large utility company to rank number one in two regions of the country and says the South and Midwest regions encompass more than 96% of the customers they are honored to serve.
Atmos Energy is reportedly the first company to rank first in both the South and Midwest among large utilities in the same year.
