Animal shelter puts out the call for vendors for upcoming adoption event

To help folks find that furry little addition to their family, the Christian County Animal Shelter is gearing up to host their Howl-O-Weenie adoption event in October which will include discounted pet adoptions, vendors and fun for kids.

Although the event is not until October, the shelter is putting out the call now for vendors. Shelter Director Melissa Goff says they are open to hosting all kinds of vendors such as craft and art vendors, small businesses and yard sales.

Registering as a vendor costs $25 and the funds will go toward the Shelter’s Get Em Done Program which focuses on getting pets spayed or neutered before they are adopted.

Along with the vendors, Goff says the shelter is working on providing some fun activities for children. There will be a bounce house and Goff says they are looking for someone who can do face painting.

Along with all of the fun, the Shelter will be providing discounted nail trimming and microchipping services along with discounted adoptions. For the adoption fees, Goff says they will be waving the $30 boarding fee for the dogs and the $10 boarding fee for the cats.

Those interested in being a vendor can visit or call the shelter at 270-887-4175. The Howl-O-Weenie adoption event is set for October 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
