All ‘A’ Region 2 baseball, softball tournaments begin tonight

The All “A” Region 2 Baseball Tournament gets underway tonight at University Heights Academy.

Heritage Christian Academy is scheduled to take on the Blazers at 6 p.m.

UHA enters the game on a two-game losing streak and is 4-3 overall and 2-0 in District 8 on the season. HCA is 2-4 overall and has not played a District 8 game.

The F&M Bank Pregame show will air at 5:45 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm.

The bracket was finalized Monday afternoon with the semifinals and finals scheduled to be played at UHA. The winner of today’s game will meet Crittenden County Thursday night in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m.

The other first round games today feature Fort Campbell (1-6) against Caldwell County (7-1) in Princeton and Livingston Central (3-6) vs. Lyon County (3-4) at Princeton. The winners will meet in the first semifinal game at 6 p.m. Thursday.

The championship game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at UHA.

The Region 2 All “A” Softball Tournament will begin today with UHA taking on Caldwell County at 5:30 p.m.

The Lady Blazers are 2-3 and Caldwell County is 3-4. UHA has not played since March 27 when they lost to HCA 16-13.

Heritage Christian will not participate in the All “A” region tournament. HCA coach Ashley Tejada said the school’s seniors were on a trip this week and there weren’t enough players to play in the tournament.

Also today, Crittenden County (5-3) plays at Livingston Central (5-2) and Fort Campbell (3-5) plays at  Lyon County (2-4).
