African American Heritage Breakfast returns to the Bruce Feb. 24

The Modernette Civic Club is putting on their annual African American Heritage Breakfast and the community is invited to attend.

It will take place on February 24 at 8 a.m. at the James E. Bruce Convention Center, and Modernette Lisa Lewis Balboa says the theme this year is “Moving Forward, Uplifting Our Community”. She says money raised by the breakfast will go towards providing scholarships to local youth.

Tickets are $35 a piece and can be purchased in advance from a Modernette or by going online to Eventbrite.com.

The keynote speaker will be State Representative Pamela Stevenson, who recently ran for Attorney General in Kentucky, with Balboa saying they’re excited to have such a dynamic speaker for their event that can really get a crowd excited.
