The Christian County Lady Colonels broke a three-game losing streak by hammering host Webster County 8-2 Tuesday afternoon in a high school softball game.
Avery Adcock slammed a two-run home run and Alondra Rodriguez had two doubles to lead the Lady Colonels’ seven-hit attack.
Christian County (5-3) led 1-0 after scoring a run in the first and Adcock’s blast made it 3-0 in the top of the third.
Webster responded with two runs in the bottom of the frame, but the Lady Colonels pushed advantage to 6-2 with three runs in the top of the fifth. Christian County took advantage of a walk and a pair of Lady Trojan errors. Rodriguez doubled home a run and Alyssa Petterson also had a run-scoring single.
Christian County made it 8-2 with two more runs in the top of the sixth inning. The big hit in the inning was a double by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez and Adcock each had a pair of RBI for the Lady Colonels, who are scheduled to play Thursday at Union County, weather permitting.
Petterson picked up the pitching win, striking out two and allowing four hits in 3 2/3 innings.
